CC Sabathia is staying with the Yankees.
Sabathia had until midnight on Monday to opt-out of his contract, which had four years and $92 million remaining on it.
He did so, but immediately agreed to a new contract with New York.
"Yankee fans, I'll be here fighting for number 28 next year," he wrote on his Twitter account.
Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated is reporting that the new deal is worth $122 million over five years with a vesting option for a sixth season worth another $25 million.

Giants, Javier Lopez Agree To Two-Year Deal
The Giants have agreed to a new two-year contract with left-handed reliever Javier Lopez, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.
Lopez -- one of baseball's most reliable lefties out of the bullpen -- had been set to become a free agent before receiving a new deal.
He will earn $4.25 million in 2012 and 2013.
Yankees Pick Up Options On Cano, Swisher
The Yankees have picked up the option of Nick Swisher, which means, barring a trade, he will be the team's right fielder for at least one more season.
Swisher, who turns 31 in November, will make $10.25M next season and then will be eligible to become a free agent.
At this point, Swisher will remain the man, but the Yankees could look to trade him and then try to find another right fielder.
The club also picked up Robinson Cano's option for next season. This was a formality as Cano is considered the team's best offensive player. Cano, who just turned 29, will make $14M this year and $15M next year. He can become a free agent after the 2013 season.
Cardinals Pick Up Wainwright's Option
The Cardinals have picked up a two-year, $21M contract on injured pitcher Adam Wainwright, helping set their rotation for next year.
Wainwright is rehabbing from elbow surgery in February that sidelined him for the entire season.
